We went to the most beautiful island – on the North West tip of Indonesia, just above Banda Aceh (The city that was hit hardest by the tsunami) Here’s a little panoramic I took from inside the sea on Gapang beach.

I realised that I haven’t posted much about the city we’re living in. You guys have no idea what it looks like! So, when Jono and I went out to get some lunch on Saturday I took some pics of the city. This is what we drive through every day.

A quick taste of everyday life here in Medan…. a tour of our roof deck at home.Please excuse the empty beer bottles… we had just had a bit of a gathering…  

We took a 5 day trip to Nias, a small island off the West of Sumatera. It was hit quite hard by “the” Tsunami, as well as a big earthquake and a few smaller ones later… So I was a little nervous about how it would look and how sad the people would be. It landed up being an extraordinary place. It has history, wondeful people, scenery, culture and the best beach I’ve seen in Indo.

Jono got to do some surfing too, he’s getting the hang of it… I’m sure I saw some sponsors hiding in the palm trees.

It was Chinese New Year last week, so the day before we left for the long weekend I made my kiddies some ribbons to dance with. It was so cute, I was taking the video of Margaret, the little girl in pink, cos she was really having a ball with the ribbon, then Dharma told me he could make shapes with the ribbon…so i told him to try to make a circle. Next thing, outta nowhere Cut (pronounced “Ichewt” pigtails, red dress, right hand side) figured out that she could make circles. So she started screaming “Miss! Miss! Cut can! Cut can!” Look Miss!!”
